About the Artist

Jennifer Becton Smith is a recent transplant to Upper Kittitas County in Washington State. She hails from the great state of Louisiana ( this would explain why she talks like she has a biscuit in her mouth). She lives in a log cabin in the woods with her hilarious and somewhat feral child, Caroline, and her equally hilarious and less feral husband, Bing.

Rounding out the mix is sweet Buddy the Dog, Lucia the Cat, and seven slightly insane chickens. She has been painting since she was a young child. Her art is greatly influenced by elements of nature. She hasn’t met a critter that she didn’t like and her art reflects that inspiration.

She is also heavily influenced by her home state- the deep colors, the rich history, and the beautiful roadside altars and tiny chapels that dot the highways of southern Louisiana. Her hope for her art is that she can bring you a smile or a bit of peace.

Y’all have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
